CDM-QTRACK-BEAM? is a fastener-less embedded rail system, belonging to the range of CDM- solutions
 |
The CDM-QTRACK-BEAM system consists of a concrete beam containing the rail, which is completely encapsulated in an elastic jacket (CDMJACKET) with a unique shape and adapted stiffness characteristics, manufactured from resinbonded rubber. |
|

CDM-QTRACK-BEAM? - rail beams are mainly used in track renovation in existing networks with short intervention intervals. COMPACT, CLASSIC or COMFORT jackets may be introduced.
The CDM-QTRACK-BEAM? concept has following additional advantages:
1 The rail is clearly dissociated from the road covering surface.
2 For this reason higher rail deflections may be allowed, thus better N&V performance can be reached (up to 15 dB improvement in comparison with classic stiff track).
3 In case of track renewal the closing of the track is reduced to a minimum (e.g. from Friday night to Monday morning)
Installation sequence:
1 In the excavation, concrete “sleepers” are installed (5 per rail beam length of 18m). They are as much as possible prealigned in x-y-z direction
2 The rail-beams are transported from the factory to the site by truck and are unloaded by a telescopic crane with low profile (ability to work under the catenaries). The rail-beams are installed, aligned and welded. After welding the rails, the welding area is equipped with jackets and “transfer beams” fitting in the reservation.
3 The concrete is poured in situ.
4 Once the concrete layer is cured, the finishingroad surface layer (pavement, asphalt, concrete, grass, ...) can be installed. |
